Student Event Planners Association Spring 2016 Banquet Decoration Committee Chair
In the Spring of 2016 I served as the decoration committee chair for the SEPA Spring banquet. I headed a committee of 6 girls. With our theme, Kentucky Derby, in mid we brainstormed decorations for the event at the Brazos Cotton Exchange. Once our ideas were cemented I used our budget to purchase supplies from Hobby Lobby. I made most of the decorations myself-huge paper flours, spray painted mason jars, and banners around the room. I learned a great deal about managing a team and a budget.
RPTS 321 Barksgiving Narration Committee Chair
In Spring 2016 I took RPTS 321 with Steve Migacz. I was named the head of the Narration Committee for our class event, our committee being in charge of the 5 senses involved in the event. Our class event was called Barksgiving, a community wide pet adoption event. I managed my group to plan the decorations, signage, and music for the event. I arrived at set up time and stayed all day to over see and participate in the event. I learned so much about group management and large scale events!
